First, we would like to honor and thank our ancestors for guiding us throughout this project. We are celebrating an amazing restoration project and have so many individuals, organizations and governments to acknowledge. This restoration work could not have been possible without the overall support of Katzie Governance, the financial support form Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program and National Wetland Conservation Fund and the professional support of Kelly Squires, Mike Pearson, Monica Pearson, Kym Welstead, Achinie Wijesinghe, Crystal Sawyer, Dan Stewart, Petra Wykpis, Roxanne Snook, and Erin Rutherford, and permits and letters of support from the City of Pitt Meadows and the Alouette River Management Society. We especially want to raise our hands to all the people that were on the ground helping us with the planning, pre-surveys, monitoring, planting, excavation, and effectiveness monitoring. We thank Jim Roberds of Roberds Excavating and Calvin Park of Magna Terra Civil for their expertise in excavating services for our wetland restoration.

Kelly Squires, PhD. RP Biologist Kelly worked with our environmental team from 2011 to 2019. We thank Kelly for acknowledging the importance of Katzie’s involvement in the stewardship within our traditional territory, providing us with the tools we needed to successfully carry out surveys, monitoring, and enhancement and restoration work within our traditional territory. We learned a lot from Kelly and we wish her all the best in all future endeavors.

Mike Pearson, PhD, RP Biologist (Pearson Ecological) Mike Pearson has worked with our environmental team since 2017. In this 2 years, Mike and his team have provided a great amount of training and skills so that we can carry out work independently.

Monica Pearson, PhD, RP Biologist Monica had a big role with the initial restoration site design.
